A Promise to Protect

2nd book in the series, not as good as 1st. Nice story and the characters were okay, but the main female character in reality was pretty selfish. She is suppose to care greatly for her son, but all she does is care about herself. Time and time again people have to remind her that she needs to care about the safety of her son, that shouldn’t have to be reminded to a normal person. The main male character I thought was written well. He is suppose to be a really good cop, but around his 1st love, he can’t think straight, that is understandable / believable. The story line with the villain was not nearly as good as the first book. Even when done with the book and she tells you who did it, I still didn’t really see that person as being able to do this, or the other stuff that they were supposedly doing for months if not years. The supporting characters though were well done. Friends were actually friends.
