The world of Arkaria is a dangerous place, filled with dragons, titans, goblins and other dangers. Those who live in this world are faced with two choices: live an ordinary life, or become an adventurer and seek the extraordinary. When a series of attacks on convoys draws suspicion that Sanctuary is involved, Cyrus Davidon must put aside his personal struggles and try to find the raiders. As the attacks worsen, Cyrus and his comrades find…

Very nice book again in the series.  Well told. I am getting less curious about Vera (the love interest).  She is becoming more and more stuck up and pompous as the books go on.  That isn’t the correct way of saying it but it is like adding up so she is seeming to be more and more stuck up.  At the beginning you give the benefit of the doubt thinking it is just stereotyping, but she continues to give example after example of what she is.

There are some new characters that are added and I think they will be around going forward and I look forward to seeing what happens to them.

The story was told well, a little dry or long in a few spaces and the going over the same material regularly is starting to wear me down.  There are a lot of books in this series and I don’t think I want to read lots of books as pointless as this.  In the end, in my opinion we ended the book in the same state as the book started, which means the story hasn’t moved along at all.  Yes the book dealt with a plot or two of its own, but where we ended was in practice the same spot as where we started.  I will give the 3rd book a try and see if it is better.
