Work hits too close to home for crime scene photographer Avery Tate when her best friend disappears. The only lead is a chilling photo of her--apparently dead. As Avery, her boss Parker, and his friends dig into the case, she's forced to confront her feelings for Parker when they come face-to-face with a dangerous criminal.

Nice 2nd book. Nice carry over from book 1 in series, but I don’t think reading book 1 is a necessity. Again I liked the interaction between the main characters. Little spoiler – I still am not too sure on my feelings about a novice criminal being able to tail a seasoned investigator without being noticed. If it was a full P.I. or ex-police officer it would be a turn off, but this guy is in a sense a nerd, not a field officer, even though she makes him out to be back up for FBI agent and ex-sniper guy. That’s why I don’t know how I feel about it. The story around the photographer was nice and real sounding. The reason they broke up was understandable and expected. Nice how the story wasn’t only about them, the other people in the agency are evolved, and since we now have this book we have insights into the next books relationship.
