About the Contributor(s): G. Campbell Morgan (1863-1945) was a leading Bible expositor in England and the United States. Despite a lack of substantial formal training, Morgan was a prolific writer and teacher. Ordained into the Congregational ministry, he was the pastor of Westminster Chapel, London (1904-17 and 1933-45). Morgan also conducted two very successful teaching tours in the United States, including work with D. L. Moody's ministry.

Nice book on a subject taught a lot. Nice easy read. A nice amount of doctrinal information. Not as light a read as Wiersbe's "Be" books but not super hard to understand. I would say good for a 3 or 4 year old in Christ. Mr. Morgan has a lot of his stuff in writing and this is one of his best.

All the New Testament "BE" books compiled in a handy, two-volume set. Study Matthew through Revelation in digestible sections that emphasize personal application and biblical content.

You might be wondering why a commentary is in a book review. Because you should read this set of books as though it is a book. It can be used as a commentary but it really is set as a reading book. It is very enjoyable to just read through his thoughts on the whole New Testament. Definitely a good read for someone around a year or two old in Christ. Good general foundational layout of the whole Bible. Nothing real deep but a lot of info.

One of the greatest defenses of the faith that covers all the central teachings of Christianity, including the deity of Christ, the Virgin Birth, the Second Coming, and salvation by grace.

Great book. Hard reading, because it is really intense and full of great info. Not a book to just read lightly. Not for a new believer either, no sense in wasting your time with this till you have a good grasp on general doctrinal beliefs. It isn't that you wouldn't understand it, but you wouldn't get much out of it. Not having a good foundation of understanding would have you stopping and trying to catch up on what is being discussed. This is for someone that has been saved for 5 or more years and been serious about studying the Bible in that time. This book will help you go to that next level in your studies.

About the Author
Reuben Archer Torrey (1856-1928) was at one time early in his Christian life a higher critic. Yet, during a year of study in Germany, he rejected that philosophy, and he later became one of the leading thinkers among the early Fundamentalists. A powerful preacher, Torrey made his mark on world evangelism. Among his other achievements were being the first superintendent of Moody Bible Institute, pastor of the Moody Memorial Church, the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles, and dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University). Torrey wrote many books, including The Real Christ (1920), Is the Bible the Inerrant Word of God? (1922), and The Power of Prayer.
